I moved to Kinross Drive with my wife Jackie and daughter Mallory in December of 1989 from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jackie was one of the founders of the original Women’s Group of Brook Highland. Jackie is from Cincinnati, Ohio. We currently have two grandchildren. Mallory spent many of her childhood years on the tennis courts at Brook Highland Racquet Club under the tutelage of Derek Tarr resulting in an athletic scholarship through college. She is currently a tennis pro at The Country Club of Birmingham.
I grew up in Birmingham and am a product of UAB. My career moved me around the midwest and finally back to Birmingham where I retired earlier this month. I grew up in the Crestwood area of Birmingham. My family was from Coosa County and I have grown up watching highway US-280 grow from a winding two lane road to the highway it is today. I was a member of the Advisory Board from 2001 to 2022. I am excited about the future of Brook Highland and being a part of it. Feel free to reach out with your concerns about our neighborhood.
My wife Amy and I have lived in BH since 1998. We love the neighborhood so much we have lived in two different houses here. I grew up in rural Mississippi, and attended MSU.
I recently retired from Southern Company after 36 years where I worked in Engineering, primarily supporting our Nuclear Fleet. My experience included construction, design, maintenance, project management and various levels of leadership. While working in Augusta, Georgia I met and married Amy in 1989 just before moving to Birmingham. Amy was a local dental hygienist prior to raising our two children, who are now grown; Emily (1993) and Ben (1996). We now enjoy our three (to date) lovely grandchildren; Jovie, Theo and Lucie.
I have been involved in the previous BH Advisory Board since 2001 when my wife (then President of the BH Women’s Club) encouraged me to get involved. We are fortunate to live in BH and are committed to supporting this neighborhood any way we can to make it a better place for future families to enjoy as we have.
